I do admit... this year I went a little crazy with the treating myself for Christmas kind of thing. I try to convince myself that my little hauls every now and again will benefit this blog helping me keep up to date with the non-stop ever growing world of makeup... but let's be honest I just want to try out all the hyped up products for myself :P The first thing that I got was the BECCA x Jacyln Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop. This is BEAUTIFUL!! I had been eyeing this product for a very long time, but I didn't want to give in to all the hype. BECCA highlighters are known for their creamy formulas and I adore Jacyln Hill and love all the makeup looks she creates however I didn't think anything could top my beloved Mary Lou Manizer by theBalm. Having said that, I think that this limited edition highlighter gives a truly unique glow. It is described as a soft white gold with pinky peach undertones which I find so flattering on my skin tone. It is a must for any makeup lover. I like to apply it using a fan brush, to ensure that it gives a nice subtle radiance to my skin. The next thing I got was totally an unexpected purchase. I initially went in one of my local drugstores hoping to get the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, but since this was unavailable I decided to give the W7 Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Blackest Black a try as I wanted to test a gel eyeliner formula and see whether It would be any easier than my go to liquid liner. I still haven't experimented much with this but I'm curious to test out it's staying power on my oily eyelids.
I also picked up two MAC products from the local MAC store here in Malta which opened up a few months ago. I swatched the Tan Pigment on my hand and fell in love. This colour is right up my alley and I think it's very versatile. The lovely assistant said it would look great with a tan in the summer months and while I definitely agree, I also think that I can somehow make it work during the holiday season as well. After all what is a holiday look without some pigment and glitter! It's a beautiful rose gold colour and it's so easy to work with. It's my new obsession. In order to make sure that my eye makeup lasts and doesn't crease I also got MAC's Soft Ochre Paint Pot which had been on my wishlist for ages. It's a very good match for my yellow undertones and a great base which makes the eyeshadows slightly more vibrant. The last thing I have bought is the Real Techniques shading brush... I have high hopes for this brush as the reviews online are amazing and I love all of my other brushes from the brand. They are good quality brushes which don't shed with washing and best of all, they are so soft. I think that this brush would be awesome for packing on eyeshadow yet it is said to be a multitasking brush so there are a variety of ways of how one can use this tiny tool. Speaking of brushes, I am currently expecting some Sigma, E.L.F Studio and Ecotools brushes in the mail. Let me know if you would like to see any reviews regarding these. I'll be more than happy to do it :) Until next time, Christine xxx
